It was almost a year ago when Google Caffeine was tentatively announced and we started to experiment with it and the fact that it’s taken this long even for Google to roll it out is an indication about how far reaching it will be in terms of what it does to your search engine rankings.
Caffeine is Google’s acknowledgement that the real-time web is here to stay. What this means is that any website which has not taken into account the social web, Facebook, Twitter and real-time updates in a social networking outreach program will soon find itself becoming obsolete as far as search engine results are concerned.
The complexity of what’s involved in search engine optimization has now increased not just in the amount of detail which must be taken into account in order to promote your brand and engage your customers but also the work required in order to reach those elusive customers in the first place. This means that SEO, though doable by the average webmaster, has now become untenable in terms of the time required to successfully pull it off and the amount of constant research and repositioning that’s required.
