Having already bought Lawrence Springborg a dictionary to avoid the
use of made-up words, a Facebook group has renamed itself around a new fundraising cause – “Let’s buy Lawrence Springborg a calculator”.
It’s a cheeky reference to the $2.1 billion hole in his election promises, which will be underfunded unless he cuts thousands of public sector jobs. |

11.03.2009 Springborg’s cuts to Health will mean thousands of jobs
Lawrence Springborg has no idea how to run Queensland Health, since he plans to slash $1.5 billion from its budget, QPSU General Secretary Alex Scott said.
“Lawrence Springborg wants to rip $766 million from Queensland Health just to pay for his election promises. To balance the budget in four years as he has promised will require another $744 million out of Queensland Health. The job cuts involved would be an utter disaster”, Mr Scott said. |

The strength and effectiveness of the QPSU is built on a network of active workplace delegates. Our delegates are ordinary QPSU members who have volunteered to make an extraordinary contribution to their workplace.
As a workplace delegate your role is the most important one that a union member can have. A workplace delegate is often the first contact that members or potential members have with the Union when they need information or assistance.
